Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Considered
as healthy food oil and recommended as a part of a diabetic diet, Olive oil
also has the properties of being calming, demulcent and emollient. It is
effective to treat burns, sprains, bruises, insect bites and relieving itching
of the skin. Olive oil contains major antioxidants, that when topically
applied, may help protect the skin from premature skin aging, restores skin
smoothness and protects against ultraviolet light. Penetrates deeply into the
skin while providing a cleansing effect, use organic olive oil at night as
moisturizer. Olive oil may be used for nail and cuticle care, and many use it
as an eye makeup remover. Further applications include using it in homemade
facial masks and as substitution of shaving cream.
Suggested use:
Used as massage oil by
adding 20% to lighter carrier oil. Mixed with honey, lemon juice and egg yolk
for anti-wrinkle mask. Replacing the honey with lemon zest gives mask suitable
for oily skin. Blend with Sesame and avocado oils in equal parts for some
protection from the sun. Can be consumed internally or used for salad dressings
and other food preparation.
